Am I entitled to a FREE NHS eye test at home?
You are eligible for a FREE NHS sight test at home if you can no longer visit a High Street Optician unaccompanied and you fit the following criteria;
Aged 60+
Registered blind or partially sighted.
Diagnosed as having Diabetes or Glaucoma, 40 or over with a direct relative with Glaucoma, or you have been advised by an Ophthalmologist that you are at risk from glaucoma.
Prescribed a complex lens

If you do not qualify for a free NHS sight test, but like the idea of the optician coming to visit you at a mutually convenient time within your own home, then we offer private sight tests.
We have a broad spectrum of glasses frames, from more basic frames through to many designer frames including Range Rover Eyewear, Louis Marcel, Tom Ford and William Morris. Should you require new glasses and choose to order from us, then we aim to have your order personally delivered to your home within 1-2 weeks where Caroline will ensure they are a perfect fit and can make slight alterations at your home if necessary.
What will happen on the day of my appointment?
On the day of your appointment, Caroline and Sarah will enter your home in full personal protective equipment and clean down the area where the sight test is going to take place and sanitise the area ready to begin.
We check the front and back of the eye, and carry out a fields test. We also test for glaucoma and eye pressures. If a referral needs to be made for further care (such as cataracts) then we will discuss this with you and recommend specialists.
If you require new glasses, we will take the appropriate measurements to order the glasses and then help you to choose some frames which suit your budget. We have a wide range of frames with us on every visit all of which are sanitised between patients.
Once the glasses are ready, we will contact you and organise a convenient time to call back and ensure the glasses fit correctly. We are able to make alterations during this visit.
